Specialized Trade Talks II
Advertising
1. BACKGROUND
As an independent part of “China Trade in Services Congress”, “Summit Forum for Innovation and Development of China’s International Advertising Service” will be a first-class communication and transaction platform for advertising services.
2. TIME AND VENUE
Time: Nov. 24-25, 2009 Venue: China National Convention Center
3. ORGANIZING COMMITTEE
Host: Ministry of Commerce, P.R.China
Co-organizers: Beijing Municipal People’s Government
Organizer: China International Advertising Corporation
4. TOPICS
The main theme of the 2009 Summit Forum for Innovation and Development of China’s International Advertising Services is “recovery of global economy and enterprises”. Under this theme, the forum will discuss the following topics, such as the development strategy for international advertising services, the strategic ideas of enterprises in building international brands, new demands of international groups in building brands, measures to build competitive brands, fresh ideas about communication in the era of new media and technology, how to guide the lifestyle of consumers in the 3G era, and the development of the media market in 2010.
(1) Recovery of the global economy and enterprises, the development strategies for international advertising services
The global financial crisis has already affected each corner of the world, and people hope that the global economy may recover steadily. In fact, glimpse of recovery has been seen already. As important players in the economy, services trade and the international advertising services should readjust their strategies and strive for new development.
(2) The strategic ideas of enterprises in building international brands
The internationalization of corporate brands has always been an important issue; either it is when Chinese native brands enter the international market, or when foreign brands enter China. China is a vast market, so how to find the most effective branding strategy would be a challenge for each advertising services supplier.
(3) Fresh ideas about communication in the era of new media technology
In today’s provision of advertising services, the development of new media and new technology has provided all possibilities for transmission and communication. New transmission means, innovative methods and communication ideas are affecting and changing the communication of information constantly. What would happen when traditional technology meets with new media technology? It is meaningful to discuss this question.
(4) Lifestyle of consumers in the 3G era
3G era is coming. Maybe it can really change our lifestyle completely. Are we ready to accept? How can we communicate? How can we lead the consumption and lifestyle of consumers? These questions must be answered.
(5) The development of the media market in 2010
The development of media market can reflect changes in the whole economy and can even change the whole economy. The development trend of the media market in key regions in the world will impact the global services trade market.
China is a major player in world media market--China has the most TV audience in the world (the number of TV viewers is triple that of US, and the number of Cable Television users is one-third of global users) and internet users (300 million at the end of 2008). However demands of consumers for media contents have not been satisfied, with only about 15% TV programs being original for the first run ( the State Administration of Radio Film and Television, China); and the box office of China is just 5% of that of U.S.A. Yet, with the boom of digital media and rise in the consumption for media services, China will soon see the rising of content industry.
